Large Town Garden, Putney

This large town garden was very dark, dank and gloomy and barely used. My clients requested a traditional English country garden, a water feature and to turn the ugly shed into a “Gothic Gingerbread House”. Unsightly old trees were removed bringing instant light. New fencing, raised beds and terrace were built at rear of the garden.

Planting consisted of a plum tree, lilac and hydrangeas. Swathes of perennials and shrubs, roses and lavender with a soft palette of purples, pinks, whites and blues created a beautiful and peaceful effect. The  scent from the roses in summer is heavenly. The shed was transformed with a stained glass window and porcelain tiles inside. It is now used as a cocktail bar.
